Pilot Starter Pak

The Pilot Pak lets a roastery test the Moree return-and-reuse system with a small group of customers. The Canadian product offer includes 10 SmartPak Max packs, two PakBak return bags and one year of MoreeOS. Each SmartPak Max holds up to 5 kg of coffee. Empty SmartPak Max packs fold flat for storage and return transport. Cafés can keep flattened packs in a drawer between deliveries, as shown in our packing demonstration. Moree states that one PakBak return envelope holds 10–15 empty SmartPaks. This describes empty-pack storage, not a measured percentage reduction in warehouse space.

Reusing a coffee pack spreads its purchase cost across repeated deliveries instead of buying a new bag each time. Moree reports packaging cost savings of 50% or more, but your savings and payback time depend on your operation. Compare purchase, return transport, washing, handling and replacement costs with your current single-use bags, using the number of reuse cycles you actually complete.

Moree reports 99% fewer CO₂ emissions, 97% less waste and 92% less fossil-fuel use compared with single-use packaging. These are separate measures from Moree’s published comparison, not a guarantee for every delivery route or a reduction in your roastery’s total emissions. Returns, washing and repeated reuse matter when assessing your own packaging system.

The roastery fills and delivers the SmartPaks; customers return the empty packs to the roastery in a PakBak. The roastery arranges the return process, inspects and washes the packs according to the care instructions, then refills them. PakBak is a reusable return envelope; it does not by itself include a collection or washing service.

Each SmartPak has a unique QR code. Scan it when a pack leaves and when it returns to update its status and recorded history in MoreeOS. MoreeOS works in a phone browser; tracking depends on scans and does not provide continuous GPS location.

SmartPak Max is designed for 100+ reuse cycles. Inspect the pack between uses and follow its washing and care instructions before refilling. Design life is different from warranty coverage: the number of trips a pack completes depends on use, care and whether it is returned.

SmartPaks have a 12-month warranty covering manufacturing defects. Contact us to have a defect assessed; repair or replacement is subject to inspection and availability. Damage caused by misuse or accidents is not covered. This warranty is separate from the 30-day return offer for unbranded Moree products.
